Michael Andretti re-established himself as a player in the 2000 CART FedEx Championship in his own mind as well as everyone else's as he won the Molson Indy yesterday.

For once, Paul Tracy found satisfaction from standing up to the pressure rather than applying it.
Finishing third in the Molson Indy in a banged-up car, the Toronto native figured, was so much better than running into oblivion trying to finish higher.

Hard charger? Tagliani qualifies

If the Player's/Forsythe team figures out a way to end its qualifying woes, Alexandre Tagliani is confident he'll be a force to be reckoned with during races.
After starting 19th in the Molson Indy yesterday, the CART FedEx Championship Series rookie began a passing rampage on the tight Exhibition Place circuit.

Irked Carpentier must get a grip

Patrick Carpentier knows he is starting to sound like a broken record.
The only problem is there is nothing he can do about it.
After each street race during the past month, Carpentier has had the same complaint about his car's poor grip.

T.O. pole-faulting

In 15 Molson Indys to date, Michael Andretti remains the only pole-winner who went on to win the race, back in 1991.
It's getting worse. With Helio Castroneves, this year's fastest qualifier, completing only 45 laps, five consecutive Molson Indy pole-winners have failed to finish. The previous fast guy to complete the distance was Jacques Villeneuve in 1995.
