    Andretti outlasts 'em all

    If Michael Andretti had been any further back, he would have had Hamilton in his rearview mirrors.
    Yet masterful driving, inspired pit strategy and fortuitous -- as well as frequent -- caution periods brought Andretti back from last place for his seventh Molson Indy victory. His Motorola Reynard-Honda was a relaxed 2.741 seconds ahead of Alex Tagliani's Player's/Forsythe Reynard Ford-Cosworth at the finish, with former Molson Indy winner Adrian Fernandez third.

    The Canadian Player's/Forsythe Racing driver has been raving about his car and team since the beginning of the CART FedEx championship series season, but there were plenty of doubters.

    Sixth place not so Kool with Tracy

    Paul Tracy didn't take much satisfaction in fighting from 24th place to finish sixth in yesterday's Molson Indy.
    "We got lucky in the end with a lot of guys crashing," Tracy said matter-of-factly after earning eight series championship points, the first he had collected in six races.

    Bump sends Carp reeling

    What looked to be a promising start for Patrick Carpentier turned into a bumpy finish for the Canadian at yesterday's Molson Indy.
    The Player's/Forsythe driver had manoeuvred his way to fifth place from 12th on the starting grid of the CART FedEx Championship Series race at Exhibition Place when he ran into some problems that forced him out of the race.
