*PSV creeps closer to another title*
------------------------------------

EINDHOVEN, Netherlands (Ticker) - PSV Eindhoven continued its
march towards the Dutch Eredivisie title as it extended its lead
to 10 points with just seven matches remaining.

PSV threw down the gauntlet Saturday with a 2-0 victory over FC
Utrecht at Philips Stadium on goals from Jan Vennegoor of
Hesselink and Park Ji-Sung.

That put the pressure on second-place AZ Alkmaar, which lost
further ground Sunday with a 4-2 loss at Feyenoord Rotterdam.
The home side needed to win in order to enhance its ambitions of
European football and possibly a Champions League place next
season.

A hat-trick by Salomon Kalou helped Feyenoord move into third
place above Ajax Amsterdam on goal difference after the
defending champions were defeated, 2-1, at Heerenveen on
Saturday.

Alkmaar was without inspirational midfielder Martijn Meerdink,
who sustained a serious knee injury on international duty with
Holland last week. The lack of his creativity in attack was
evident as AZ stumbled to only its second road loss of the
season.

In the relegation battle, Den Bosch recorded its first road win
of the campaign and only its third win of the entire season when
Jochen Janssen's goals in the sixth and 49th minute were enough
to beat fellow strugglers RBC Roosendaal, 2-1.

NEC Nijmegen boosted its survival hopes as it moved to relative
safety after coming out on top in a 4-3 thriller against FC
Groningen at De Goffert Stadium. An 85th minute score from
Polish international Andrzej Niedzielan handed NEC only its
fifth home win of the season.

Finally, Roda JC Kerkrade topped NAC Breda, 2-1, at Parkstad
Limburg Stadium on Sunday.
