Major League Baseball - Suspended Tampa Bay Devil Rays 
outfielder Alex Sanchez for 10 games for violating the league's 
drug prevention program.

Arizona Diamondbacks - Placed pitcher Jose Valverde on the
15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 25, with right biceps
tendinitis; placed shortstop Jerry Gil on the 15-day disabled
list with a right knee injury; purchased the contract of
outfielder Quinton McCracken; designated outfielder Reggie
Abercrombie for assignment.

Colorado Rockies - Placed third baseman Garrett Atkins on the
15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring; recalled
third baseman Jeff Baker from Tulsa of the Texas League (AA).

New York Yankees - Placed pitcher Kevin Brown on the 15-day
disabled list with a strained back; recalled infielder
Andy Phillips from Columbus of the International League (AAA).
