Family suspects heart attack killed Pillman
By PETER SMITH -- Calgary Sun

Calgary's Hart Foundation star wrestlers now believe a heart attack may have taken the life of former colleague Brian Pillman.

Bruce Hart took a phone call Monday night from Pillman's second wife, Melanie, 24 hours after Pillman's body was found Sunday in a Bloomington, Minn., hotel room.

"Melanie thinks it may have been a heart attack bro-ught on by a great combination of thi-ngs," said Hart, who is slated to be one of the pall-bearers at Pillman's funeral Friday in Cincinnati, Ohio.

"His father died of a heart attack when he was really young and it may be hereditary. Melanie said recently Brian had told her he'd been experiencing heart palpitations."

Pillman was taking pain-killers to counter the agony of a shattered ankle he suffered in a car wreck last year, which also left him temporarily in a coma.

Mike Opitz, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, said it could take two weeks before results of tests are known.
