  • IN THE RING WITH MICHAEL TALBOT

Michael Talbot was an on-line editor at SLAM! Sports. A big fan of the Sweet Science since the glory days of Leonard, Hearns, and Hagler, he brought us some different views of major fights, and some of the minor ones, to SLAM! Boxing. Check out our In The Ring archive with Michael Talbot, as we wish him all the best!

Lewis should be thinking Tua, not Tyson

By MICHAEL TALBOT -- SLAM! Boxing

Lennox Lewis seems to be riding a building wave of false security. The ease in which he has disposed of his last two sacrificial lambs (M. Grant and F. Botha), has convinced Lewis that he is untouchable. And while confidence is a nescessary ingredient for success, overconfidence often leads to a head on crash with reality.
With that in mind, the biggest mistake Lennox Lewis can make at this point in his career is to overlook David Tua.
