Hamilton 2003 Road World Cycling Championships schedule - Saturday, October 11


Today the focus at the 2003 Road World Cycling Championships shifts to the Road Races for the Junior Men (18 and under) and Elite Women (19 and above).

Yesterday 23,500 fans watched the Junior Women and Espoir Men Road Races along the race course. After four days of racing 58,500 fans have attended the Road World Championships in Hamilton.

RACE SCHEDULE
  • Both races will utilize the Road Race Course - 12.4 km
  • In the Road Race, the riders start as one group with the first rider crossing the finish line being declared the winner
  • 11:30 a.m. to 1:55 p.m. - Junior Men Road Race - 1 lap for a total race distance of 20.8 km
    Canadians Participating - Canadian TT Champion Kevin Lacombe (Amos, QC), Brandon Crichton (Burlington, ON), Christian Meier (Sussex, NB), and Raphael Tremblay (xx)
  • 2:10 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Elite Women Road Race - 1 lap for a total race distance of 20.8 km
    Canadians Participating - Canadian RR Champion Genevieve Jeanson (Lachine, QC), Lyne Bessette (Lac Brome, QC), Manon Jutras (Montreal, QC), Amy Moore (Mississauga, ON), Susan Palmer-Komar (Hamilton, ON) and Erinne Willock (Victoria, BC)

    FESTIVAL
  • 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. - Aboriginal Festival, Bayfront Park
  • 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Mohawk in Motion Family Zone, Mohawk College
  • 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. - Rooftop Arts & Music Festival, Jackson Square Rooftop
  • 4:00 p.m. to midnight - Rib Row Street Festival
  • 7:30 p.m. - Oktoberfest Party featuring Kim Mitchell, Copps Coliseum Exhibition Hall

    Sum Tickets for today's races for the Gold Grandstand at the Start / Finish Line are available at the Copps Coliseum Box Office and for the Silver Standing area on the Claremont Access at the bottom and top of the Access, and for Beckett Drive at the bottom and top of the hill. Tickets are also on-sale through Ticketmaster by phone or on-line at www.ticketmaster.ca
