Hamilton 2003 Cycling Championship to hold community Open House at City Hall on June 3
The Organizing Committee for the Hamilton 2003 Cycling Championships, in conjunction with the City of Hamilton, is hosting a Community Open House on Tuesday, June 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Open House is being held at Hamilton City Hall on the Mezzanine Level outside Council Chambers.
Staff from Hamilton 2003 and the City will be on hand at the Open House. Interested individuals from the community seeking information, or with questions on the two Cycling Championships, are encouraged to drop by between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on June 3 to talk with staff.
The Open House is a follow-up to the four Community Town Hall Meetings that were held in February and early March to provide information and respond to questions from residents and businesses regarding the two Championship Road Cycling events being held in Hamilton in 2003. The Tim Hortons Road National Championships will be held from June 27 to 29 and the Road World Championships will take place from October 6 to 12.
Hamilton 2003 Organizing Committee and City of Hamilton Staff are providing race information and conducting meetings with community stakeholders on an ongoing basis. More than 150 different meetings have been held with businesses, community organizations and residents including Hamilton Health Sciences, Hamilton-Wentworth school boards, Hillfield-Strathallan College, Mohawk College and St. Joseph's Hospital. Further information can also be found at the official Hamilton 2003 web site, www.hamilton2003.com, or the official web site of the National Championships, www.roadnationals.com.
The City of Hamilton has introduced a dedicated section on its web site, www.hamilton.ca, to the Cycling Championships with information on race times, road closures, municipal services and much more. Regular updates can also be found in the City Connections newsletter, which is distributed to all city residents on a weekly basis.
