BRUCE KIDD AWARDAthlete LeadershipBruce Kidd has made enormous contributions to Canada's sporting community as an athlete, advocate, author, historian and academic. An accomplished runner with numerous world records and medals, Dr. Kidd was inducted into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame in 1968. In 1994 he received the Bryce Taylor Memorial Award for outstanding contributions to Canadian amateur sport. Today he is a professor and the Director of the School of Physical and Health Education at the University of Toronto. The Bruce Kidd Award is presented annually by Athletes CAN and the Spirit of Sport Foundation to a senior national team athlete who has demonstrated athletic excellence and ethical leadership on and off the playing field.Past Recipients
