Presented by Investors Group Watch the CBC broadcast Wed., March 21 at 7 p.m. EST and Sat., March 24 at 5 p.m. EST Brunet and Igali repeat as Canadian Athletes of the YearOTTAWA -- Kayaker Caroline Brunet of Lac-Beauport, Que. and wrestler Daniel Igali of Surrey, B.C., were repeat winners of the Athlete of the Year Awards handed out tonight at the 28th annual Canadian Sport Awards.How can one forget Daniel Igali's outstanding and very touching performance in Sydney, where he won Canada's first Olympic gold medal in the sport of wrestling. Canadian Sport Awards Finalists AnnouncedOTTAWA -- The Spirit of Sport Foundation have announced the Finalists for the 28th annual Canadian Sport Awards presented by Investors Group, to be held in Toronto on March 20, 2001. More than 100 individuals were nominated for awards to be presented in 11 categories. As well, over 25 corporations were nominated in four categories recognizing the tremendous support Corporate Canada has provided to amateur sport.
