Bears_Sec92:
Freddy, I would first of all like to tell you how pleased I am with your recent play. You have UNBELIVEABLE! Some magic in those news pads, lol, j/k. Anyway, I was one who was on the trip to Norfolk last Sunday. Did you think the fact that there were quite a few Bears fans in Richmond that
Frederic Cassivi: Yeah. Our fans have been great support all year. Especially in the playoffs. It was really good at Norfolk where we had almost as many fans as Norfolk did. That gave us a lot of energy.
Joanne Shaw:
Hi Frederic, Are goaltenders more focused with more shots on net? I would think with less action in front you might lose your concentration? (Let's beat those Penguins!!)
Frederic Cassivi: Sometimes it helps you to stay focused in the game when you have more shots but you have to hope that all these shots aren't good scoring chances.
Hershey Bears season ticket holder:
Hey Mr. Cassici i just want to know how it feels to be in the Western Conference Finals against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton?
Frederic Cassivi:I think it's going to be a great series. The Penguins are a great team and if we keep playing the way we have been playing so far in the playoffs, it should be a great show for the fans.
Sarah:
What was it like playing in the all-star game?? Let's Go BEARS!!!
Frederic Cassivi:It was a great experience to play with all of the All-Star players. I'm sure it made a better goaltender to face them.
Nicole:
Dear Frederic, I think that you are a really great goaltender.I was wondering when did you start playing hockey and were you a goaltender the whole time you played hockey? Thank You
Frederic Cassivi: I started playing hockey for fun when I was about five year's old and organized hockey at the age of eight years old. But I didn't become a full-time goaltender until I was ten or 11.
Shannon:
What has been your fondest memory playing in the AHL?
Frederic Cassivi: I'd have to say the all-star game this year.
Karin:
What nicknames do you have?
Frederic Cassivi: Cass. Or Freddie.
Cocobear:
Hey!, Im a big Hershey Bears fan and i make it to almost all the playoff games. Congrads so far...you have the best GAA. I was wondering does the playoffs make you play better and during the game do you hear the crowd noise and the music or do you channel it out....good luck!!! Go Bears
Frederic Cassivi: The playoffs always make it more exciting. As far as the crowd goes I hear the noise and the music but I try not to let it take anything away from my focus.
Dan Bogrette:
As a loyal bears season ticket holder I would like to first say great job to Freddy for his performance thus far in the playoffs. My question is: What has made the biggest difference for you in your performance now compared to back in the regular season?
Frederic Cassivi: A little bit of it is confidence. It is much better now. But for the most part I would have to say that it is my teammates that were doing an awesome job in front of me.
Bear Tracker:
How much affect DID Aaron Downey's comments in the newspaper have on the Bears? Did you feel anger? A challenge to prove him wrong? Did you guys talk about the interview alot or did you mostly ignore what he said about the Bears not winning any more games?
Frederic Cassivi:It gave us a little challenge but we didn't want to lose any of our focus because of those comments.
Bob G:
Hello, Does your size help you in playing your position?
Frederic Cassivi:Yeah, of course. As a big goalie it helps to cover as much net as possible and that's my style of play to cover as much net as possible.
Adam Gorecki:
How did you like playing for the Avalanche when David Abesicher was out sick?
Frederic Cassivi: It was agreat experience. My favourite team growing up was the Quebec Nordiques and one of the goalies I watched a lot was Patrick Roy so it was a good coincidence to back up Patrick Roy for the Quebec Nordiques' transferred franchise.
Leitha:
Do you feel that most people underrated your team going into the playoffs? Good luck against Wilkes-Barre.
Frederic Cassivi:We might have been underrated for the reason taht we underachieved during the regular season but within ourselves we know that we can go a long way if we work hard.
Bear Tracker:
Do you feel that Coach Foligno is doing anything differently the past few weeks that he didn't do in the regular season?
Frederic Cassivi:He's been positive with us the whole year no matter what has happened and he keeps being positive in the playoffs and we can see that it is paying off right now.
Luc Villeneuve:
With the excellent season you are having , do you think you will stay in Colorado next season ?
Frederic Cassivi: It's going to be tough with Patrick Roy and David Aebischer already established up there.

I was wondering what you are going to have to do to stop the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins and there unwillingness to give up attitude??
Frederic Cassivi:It's going to take the same hard work that we showed during the first two rounds. They have a great team -- great offensive talent and a good goaltender but again no one thought we could win the first two rounds so we can win this one two.
Frederic Cassivi:I would like to say hello to all our fans in Hershey. Thank-you for the great support during the bad times and good times this season. Come and cheer for us for this third round it's going to be an exciting playoff series.
Moderator: SLAM! Sports would like to thank Frederic for taking the time out of his busy schedule to talk with us. Please stay tuned to the AHL.com for more chats with your favorite AHL stars.
