 Height: 6'0"
 Weight: 210 lbs

Edi Podivinsky is one of those athletes that traditionally saves his best for the big events. His most notable international accomplishment was a bronze medal performance in the men's downhilll at the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics, a few weeks after his first and only World Cup victory in Austria.

Podivinsky is one of two Canadian men with an Olympic alpine skiing medal. The other is Steve Podborski, third in the downhill at the 1980 Lake Placid Olympics.

In 1998 at Nagano he placed fifth after a disappointing season heading into the Games. Many forget his two World Cup medals in 1999-2000 season after being on the sidelines the previous winter with a knee injury.

Podivinsky was also on the 1992 Olympic team but tore his knee in a training run and didn't compete. In fact he missed the rest of the World Cup campaign that winter. He was a forerunner at the 1988 Calgary Games and won the world junior downhill title in 1989.
