SYDNEY, Australia (AP) -- A New South Wales Academy of Sports scientist pleaded guilty Tuesday to importing a banned performance-enhancing drug from the United States.

  John Pryor admitted in a Sydney court to possession of two bottles of androstenedione -- also referred to as Andro -- but pleaded not guilty to possession of six bottles of DHEA-100.

  Andro, marketed as a muscle-building supplement, and the performance-enhancing DHEA, or dehydrohepiandrosterone, are available over the counter in the United States, but are banned in Australia and are on the International Olympic Committee's list of banned substances.

  The Australian Customs Service charged Pryor in April with the importation of steroids over the Internet after officials seized two packages of DHEA, which had been sent to him at the sports academy in Sydney.

  Pryor was ordered to appear again in court Oct. 4 for a further hearing and sentencing.
