Rhiannon Leier was one of the biggest surprises at the Olympic trials in
June when she won the women's 100-metre breaststroke with a personal best
time to qualify for the Games. The event has one of the deepest fields in
Canadian swimming, but Leier placed ahead of such stars as world
championship bronze medallist Lauren Van Oosten. The win also earner her a
spot on the 4X100 medley relay.
