Canada has four 10-metre tower divers in women's competition who possess the skills to beat the best in the world and win an Olympic gold medal. Myriam Boileau, Anne Montminy, Blythe Hartley and 18-year-old Emilie Heymans. Heymans' international record speaks for itself. World junior tower champion champion in 1997, World Cup silver medallist on three-metres in 1999 and Pan Am Games tower champion in 1999.

 Heymans showed her poise and confidence at the Pan Ams as she nailed a triple somersault in a tuck position from a handstand the most difficult in her repertoire. She improved her personal best score by a whopping 43 points at the Games to set a Pan Am and Canadian record. She also holds all national junior marks on all three boards.

 "Her mental toughness for someone that young is amazing," said Canadian national team coach Mitch Geller. "Nothing seems to bother her and that's great because this is a sport with a lot of pressure situations."
