A former member of the Jamaican national team, Karlene Haughton qualified
for the Olympics in the 400-metre hurdles and the 4X400 relay squad. She
represented Canada last year at the Pan Am Games and the world
championships. In 1998, she won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games.
She also raced for Jamaica at the 1997 worlds and the 1994 Commonwealth
Games in Victoria. She graduated in 1996 with a bachelor of arts degree
from St. Augustine College in Raleigh, North Carolina.
